On October 11 – 12 the 7th International SIGNAL+DRAHT Congress took place in picturesque central German town Fulda. The Congress, organized by the German highly regarded journal SIGNAL+DRAHT , addressed the trends of railway signaling systems development.
General Director of Research and Production Center “Promelectronica” Igor Tilk took part in the congress, which has become the traditional meeting place for the main European experts in the sphere railway automatics.
More than 200 specialists from Germany, France, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Denmark and other countries attended the congress. Russia was represented by Research and Production Center “Promelectronica” and Certification Centre of St. Petersburg Railway University .
This year the experts discussed expansion of technologies of train control with radio channel (ETCS Level 2) and the development of ETCS European railway corridors. The speakers addressed not only theoretical questions, but also shared their practical experience of their work with the technology. The problems of certification of the train safety systems also were in focus of the discussion.
Igor Tilk: “ Congress SIGNAL+DRAHT is one of the main events, which is attended by the best designers of railway signaling systems. The congress always clearly demonstrates the European and global trends of the signaling development. It is very pleasant for me that Russia is not aside of the progress. Our company is not only well-known, our technologies and developments attract a serious business interest of the global known companies. I hope that our dialogue would be fruitful for the advance of new railway automatics technologies.”
