A new haul has been equipped with semi-automatic block system MPB on the South-Caucasus Railway. Now the system is working on hauls Shorzha-Vardenis and Vardenis-Sotk.
BBK-02 base block of controllers has also been implemented on Shorzha-Vardenis haul for additional control of points. MPB and BBK-02 are integrated through optical fiber communication line.
Equipped sections are located in the northern non-touristic parts of Armenia. Shorzha-Vardenis-Sotk branch is a stub way and the Sotk Station, which serves a gold mine, is the stub-end station.
Whole railway spans across picturesque area of Sevan Lake. This lake is often compared to Baikal Lake due to its rich fauna and water cleanness.
