Specialists of R&D Company Promelectronica have concluded comprehensive works on Cherepovets-2 Station of Cherepovets Steel Mill (belongs to PAO Severstal) to adapt equipment to the new station layout.
Cherepovets-2 Station is divided into two yards: one belongs to PAO Severstal (Cherepovets-2) and the other to JSC Russian Railways (Cherepovets-II).
Initially the station operated on an outdated relay system. The first changes came in 2021: we implemented brand new MPC-I Computer based interlocking featuring hot standby capability of UKC interlocking controllers, SOK object controller system. ESSO-M-2 system was implemented to control section clearance of the yard. Interlocking controlled 56 points and 80 light signals. Then Cherepovets-II was modernized with interlocking of the other manufacturer. Integration between two interlocking systems was required. The works have been finally concluded in 2023.
This year the integration plan between two interlocking systems has been changed, considering delimitation of control areas.
One more light signal has been added in the process, equipment racks and software of the system have been updated, as well as changes to the integration plans between interlocking systems have been made. One more modernization stage of Cherepovets-2 Station is planned for 2025.
