Alstom and R&P Centre “Promelectronica” have taken decision on developing partnership relations with a view to produce signalling systems, adopted to 1520 mm railway gauge and intended for implementation in Russia and former USSR countries. In consequence of negotiations, carried on from December 2010, memorandum of understanding was signed and plans to form Joint Venture (JV) till the end of the year 2011 were evolved.
JV, in which Alstom would have a 51% interest and 49% would belong to Promelectronica, will be located inMoscow. JV will produce already existing range of products of both companies as well as new systems and devices will be jointly developed. Certainly, the main purpose is to satisfy the requirements of the railway transport in modern and reliable signalling systems. It is planned to produce systems based on existing facilities of both partners.
